Bridges Oregon announces the closure of the Co-Navigator and ODHS Case Management Services programs, effective May 30–31. Other services remain fully active.
Dear Community,
Salem, Oregon — May 2025 — Bridges Oregon is writing to share important updates about two of our service programs: the Co-Navigator Program and the ODHS Case Management Services.
After thoughtful evaluation and deep engagement, we have made the difficult decision to dissolve the Co-Navigator Program and terminate our contract with the Oregon Department of Human Services, effective May 31, 2025. This program was launched to support DeafBlind Oregonians. Despite our team’s tireless efforts and collaboration with ODHS, structural barriers within the contract limited the ability to build a successful and sustainable service model. We believe ending the program at this time is in the best interest of all involved.
Additionally, we want to inform you that the ODHS Case Management Services contract —originally scheduled to conclude on June 30, 2025—will now end earlier on May 30, 2025. This adjustment was made after we were placed in a position where urgency and situational realities necessitated an earlier closure to ensure a responsible and timely wrap-up of services.
We understand these changes may affect individuals currently connected to the Co-Navigator and ODHS case management services. We are working closely with affected staff and community partners to ensure a respectful, organized transition that prioritizes the well-being and dignity of all service recipients.
Please be assured that these developments do not impact other Bridges Oregon programs. Specifically:
- Our Employment and Independent Living Services will continue without interruption, including the case management support offered through that program.
- Our Domestic and Sexual Violence Services will also continue providing dedicated case management and advocacy for survivors.
These programs remain strong and fully operational, and we are committed to ensuring their continued growth and accessibility.
Bridges Oregon remains firmly committed to our mission of equity, access, and culturally aligned services for the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities across Oregon. We will continue to seek opportunities that strengthen our programs and uphold the values we share with you.
