Salem, Oregon – Bridges Oregon is proud to announce that Chad A. Ludwig, Executive Director, is one of the recipients for the Maps Credit Union Community Award for exceptional commitment in increasing equal access and ongoing advocacy for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing community members.

Through the Maps Community Award, they honor community members who are going above and beyond to “Make a Difference” in the Mid-Willamette Valley. The winner selects a local nonprofit in Marion or Polk county to receive a $1,000 grant. Bridges Oregon was selected to receive the grant.

“I am fortunate to witness the first and only culturally specific and responsive nonprofit organization in Oregon to provide advocacy and accompaniment services to individuals who are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing survivors in their heritage languages. We received our very first grant in early 2021 and since July 1, 2021, we have served 347 clients and survivors through our four programs, and had over 3,800 new visitors to our website,” said Chad A. Ludwig, Executive Director of Bridges Oregon.
